Christmas Muscat
The first Muscat de Rivesaltes of the year is bottled at the end of the harvest, and the Muscat de Noël is enjoyed from the third Thursday in November.
To reflect the diversity and richness of our terroir as closely as possible, the Roussillon wines produced at Château de Corneilla are structured into different ranges: Les Terrasses, Cavalcade, Gris-Gris, La Canaille, Altitude 231 mètres, Les Candelles, L’Indigène , Icône… Our HVE3-labeled vineyards are located around Château de Corneilla, south of Perpignan, between Collioure and Bages. Our reds, rosés, whites and Vins Doux Naturels are all typical profiles of the Roussillon region. Château de Corneilla’s vineyards are spread over six different appellations:

CHÂTEAU DE CORNEILLA
WILLIAM JONQUERES D'ORIOLA
Since 1485, the Jonquères d’Oriola family, whose history is closely linked to the vine and the equestrian world, has had many generations of winemakers. Passionate, the men of this old Catalan family succeed one another at Château de Corneilla to produce wines typical of the Roussillon region. After an oenological world tour and ten years of transition with his father, William Jonquères d’Oriola took over the estate in 2020, breathing new life into this historic château by placing agro-ecology at the heart of the estate’s concerns.

HISTORY
Corneilla Castle
Château de Corneilla is a typical Roussillon construction. Built in the 13th century by the Knights Templar, this motte castle is made of cayrou and pebbles. Facing the Canigou, it offers a 180-degree view of the Roussillon plain and the Canigou.

We cultivate 95 hectares of vines on different estates located between the south of Perpignan and Collioure, in the Roussillon region. Our vineyards are spread over six appellations:

Respect for the environment, biodiversity and the regulation of ecosystems are at the heart of our concerns. Our decision to equip ourselves with several weather stations enables us to make better decisions for vineyard management. All our vines are cultivated using sustainable agriculture with HVE 3 (High Environmental Value) certification. These different plots are rigorously selected with the aim of being one of the most representative vineyards in the South of Roussillon.
JONQUERES D'ORIOLA VINEYARDS
Corneilla Castle
For William Jonquères d’Oriola, “we do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children”. This quotation from Antoine de Saint Exupéry perfectly illustrates the spirit that drives each generation of the Jonquères d’Oriola family, each concerned, in their own way, to pass on Château de Corneilla and the vines in the best possible conditions to the next generation. The Jonquères d’Oriola family’s passion for their land, their know-how and their spirit are all values that lie at the heart of the estate’s spirit.
HVE 3: for virtuous agriculture
Today, William Jonquères d’Oriola manages 95 hectares of vines in IGP Côtes Catalanes, AOP Côtes du Roussillon, AOP Côtes du Roussillon Villages les Aspres, AOP Collioure, AOP Muscat de Rivesaltes and AOP Rivesaltes. The estate is certified HVE3 (High Environmental Value level 3). The orchard of 6,000 olive trees is farmed organically.
With the HVE3 label, Château de Corneilla is committed to integrating biodiversity at the heart of its operations and limiting inputs as much as possible to preserve and develop life in the soil.
A number of actions have been implemented:
- Installation of bat nesting boxes in trees at the edge of the vineyard to naturally reduce the incidence of certain diseases in the vines.
- Plant cover to protect soil life and limit evaporation.
- Last but not least, sheep graze in the vineyards, naturally enriching the soil with the fertilizer they provide.
