Since 1485, the Jonquères d'Oriola family has had more than 27 generations of winemakers, whose history is closely linked to the vine and the equestrian world.
Several Olympic titles and world championships in horse riding and fencing have made the reputation of this Catalan family. Its excellence can also be seen in the quality of its wines. Philippe and William Jonquères d'Oriola, father and son respectively, work in symbiosis to produce wines at the Château de Corneilla del Vercol, the family's anchor point.

The Jonquères d'Oriola family has been established in Corneilla del Vercol since 1485. The men of this old Catalan family are passionate about producing Roussillon wines and have handed down the Château de Corneilla and its vineyards from father to son since the 5th century. William Jonquères d'Oriola, who represents the 27th generation, took over the property after ten years of transmission with his father Philippe.
In order to represent as closely as possible the diversity and richness of our terroir, the Roussillon wines produced at Château de Corneilla are structured into different ranges: L'Infini, Cavalcade, Gris-Gris, La Canaille, Altitude 231 metres, Les Candelles, L'Indigène and Icône. Our plots are located around the Château de Corneilla, south of Perpignan, between Collioure and Bages. Our red, rosé, white and Vins Doux Naturels wines are all typical and representative of the Roussillon region.
At Château de Corneilla, the estate's vineyards are spread over six different appellations:
For William Jonquères d'Oriola "we do not inherit the land from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children". This quote from Antoine de Saint Exupéry perfectly illustrates the spirit that drives each generation of the Jonquères d'Oriola family, each one being concerned, in its own way, to pass on the Château de Corneilla and the vines in the best possible conditions to the next generation. The passion for their land, the know-how and the spirit of the Jonquères d'Oriola family are all values that are at the heart of the spirit of the estate.
William Jonquères d'Oriola currently manages 95 hectares of vines in the Côtes Catalanes PGI, Côtes du Roussillon PDO, Côtes du Roussillon Villages les Aspres PDO, Collioure PDO, Muscat de Rivesaltes PDO and Rivesaltes PDO. The estate has been awarded the HVE3 label (High Environmental Value level 3). The orchard of 6000 olive trees is farmed organically.
By being awarded the HVE3 label, Château de Corneilla is committed to integrating biodiversity into the heart of its operations and to limiting inputs (fertilisers and external foodstuffs) as much as possible in order to preserve and develop the life in the soil.
Various actions are thus implemented:
