It is necessary to go back 27 generations to understand the origins of the Jonquères d'Oriola family, passionate about wine and the equestrian world. From father to son, they pass on their know-how and their love of the vine to make the wines of the Château de Corneilla.
Since 1485, their wines have been produced in the Roussillon region of southern France. It is precisely at the castle of Corneilla del Vercol, an essential part of Catalan cultural heritage, that the magic happens. Located between Perpignan and Collioure, this castle was built in the 13th century by the Templars. The Jonquères d'Oriola family produces organic olive oil in addition to its 23 wines (reds, rosés, whites and natural sweet wines) in six different appellations: AOP Côtes du Roussillon, AOP Côtes du Roussillon Villages Les Aspres, AOP Collioure, AOP Muscat de Rivesaltes, AOP Rivesaltes and IGP Côtes Catalanes. Thanks to the quality of their wines, the Château de Corneilla is regularly rewarded in major national and international competitions.
"Our family philosophy is to sublimate our terroir through each vintage.
Driven by the same passion, the Jonquères d'Oriola family has succeeded one another in passing on to future generations a vineyard that is as healthy as possible. After a tour of the oenological world and 10 years spent working alongside his father Philippe, it is now William Jonquères d'Oriola who is at the helm of Château de Corneilla.
On the strength of this inter-generational complicity, and of the new cultivation methods and winemaking techniques discovered during his oenological travels, William Jonquères d'Oriola is developing the estate to meet the challenges of his time. All of the estate's vines are certified HVE3 (High Environmental Value) and the olive orchard is cultivated in Organic Agriculture to produce an organic extra virgin olive oil with local varieties. The excellence of the wines, the enhancement of our terroirs and the eco environmental measures applied are a permanent challenge. challenge for the estate.
